Smoke em' if ya got em'
Rev 8:4 - He likes the way incense smells with prayers
And the smoke of the incense, [which came] with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.
Rev 15:8 - His glory is smoking hot
And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

Bridge Heading Where?
Two points of view here when beholding such a sight. A) is this a bridge to nowhere; or B) is this an adventure into the great unknown? Both a little scary, both are filled with mystery. Some day I feel I'm on the bridge to nowhere - nowhere good anyway, and at any moment could step off into the end of life as i know it. Yet there is an excitement of pursuing across such a bridge to see what awaits, an adventure if you will.
I am not talking about what awaits after death at all - for I know where I'm going then. It is the now that I speak of. What does this day hold - do we want to run across to see or creep over if fear? Normally I would run over, but as of late in my life at least, I have been walking more cautiously. In fear really of what new horror awaits just out of sight. But things were not always such.
The overwhelming majority of my life has been a run to get their and get it done. Now I have a different approach. In good days we have no problem heading over - in more trying times we naturally are more cautious to say the least.
What is over their? Treasure and gifts; rewards or ruin; gloom or glory; vipers or victory? So much of our life we think we have planned out but in reality we really don't know what is ahead - death, disease, deliverance?
The only one who can find any amount if comfort is the child of God. He alone knows what is over there, and he alone can help or hurt us with it. It is hard to say but true none-the-less, whatever is over their is for our good and his glory. Sometimes you wonder how can He get glory from such a tragedy as death, or heartbreak - but i have seen it, beheld it with mine own eyes. In funerals souls come get saved. In tragedy hearts and lives knit closer together and to him as well. He allows the pain so as to administer the cure. As Job said and as we also may say (who knows what is over their) "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord"

An Atheist in my gas tank
Creation is a big topic to ever born again Christian and Atheist. We hear the world and the Church argue how old the Earth is 6,000 to 600 billion years they would proclaim. What if both trains of thought are wrong. Biblically, man was made on day 6. I said man. Again MAN. On day 7 if you would have looked at Adam you would have said "the earth must be at least 30 years old because here is a MAN that would have taken at least 30 years to grow to his present form - right?" WRONG - Adam was two days old, yet a full grown man - and God made him as though he had been around that long (30 years). With that Biblical thought - doesn't it stand to reason that God could do the same with the earth in creation? He spoke it into existence on day one - yet He could have made it in the form of a 600 billion year old planet, just as He did Adam? Remember God isn't taking sides on the creation issue - He is coming back to just take over!
While I'm in the neighborhood let me drop in on Atheism and Biblical events. OIL comes from dead decayed flesh- on that we can all agree. Dinosaurs mostly died out in the flood of Noah's day with masses of animal flesh herding together on high ground and then drowning. BUT there were several million if not billion people on the planet as well. Atheist to be exact. Noah preached and they mocked, in unbelief. God showed them Baptism will not save (Even full submersion). Yet man flesh has no doubt turned into oil reserves as well as animal. NOW get this, God took all those preacher hating, God cursing unbelieving Atheist and turned them into gasoline to be put in preachers cars to get them around the world to Preach His Holy Word - Amen - only God could work such a work in that kind of wisdom. My last question to ever Bible believer is "How many Atheist are you getting a gallon?"

The Hottest Topic in the Church (HELL)
Different Views of Hell: (I believe none of the following)
1) Anglican Church View: In 1996, purposed that "if there is a hell, it must be empty"
2) Atheist view: "There is no God, therefore, there can be no hell"
3) Agnostic view: "The idea of hell was born out of revenge on one side, and cowardice on the other"
4) Liberal view: "There is a God, but he is a God of love and there-fore can not send anyone to hell"
5) Religious view:
a. Christian Science: "Hell is an error of the mortal mind"
b. Jehovah Witnesses: "The wicked will be annihilated, burned up"
c. Mormonism: "all will eventually be saved, and not suffer eternal punishment"
d. Seventh Day Adventist: "God will blot out all sins and sinners"
Here is the truth of what the Bible says. Of the 260 Chapters in the NT, warnings about hell are found in 230 of them. Those who believe in the myth of no hell, are myth-taken. Lukes account is not a parable. In all of Jesus' parables, he made a reference to 'a certain man, or woman", but in this story He named the names. Hell is a word of hope to the righteous, that the scales of justice will be finally balanced and evil will be judged, condemned and eradicated.Hell is bad news because actual people go there.Without Hell, the Gospel is not really good news. Without hell, there would be no urgency to go into all the world and preach the gospel. Luke 16:19-31. The most ignorant generation to ever live (as to what Hell is and what it is about) is today. The Main problem is the pulpits, and lack of men with backbones. A payday on Friday is more important to most than an eternal payday in Glory. Here is the Outline on a Series a preached on Hell a few years back
The Fact of Hell -Mt 5:20-30
The Field of Hell -Lk 16:19-31
The Faces of Hell -Rev 9:1-12/ Rev 20
The Fear of Hell -Proverbs 23:13-14
Note : Jonathan Edwards in his 1741 message "Sinners in the hands of an angry God" (which led 1000's to Salvation in Jesus Christ) Had to stop and settle down the crowds 4 different times because of their astonishment of a place called Hell. Hell is not what the uneducated preach - it is what Jesus preached.
Make sure you are born again, washed in the blood, made a new creature to avoid a place called Hell.

Drink like a sailor
The U. S. S. Constitution (‘Old Ironsides’), was a combat vessel, carried 48,600 gallons of fresh water for her crew of 475 officers and men. This was sufficient to last six months of sustained operations at sea. She carried no evaporators (i.e. fresh water distillers).
However, let it be noted that according to her ship’s log, “On July 27, 1798, the U.S.S. Constitution sailed from Boston with a full complement of 475 officers and men, 48,600 gallons of fresh water, 7,400 cannon shot, 11,600 pounds of black powder, and 79,400 gallons of rum.” Her mission: “To destroy and harass English shipping.”
Making Jamaica on 6 October, she took on 826 pounds of flour and 68,300 gallons of rum. Then she headed for the Azores, arriving there 12 November. She provisioned with 550 pounds of beef and 64,300 gallons of Portuguese wine.
On 18 November, she set sail for England. In the ensuing days she defeated five British men-of-war and captured and scuttled 12 English merchant ships, salvaging only the rum aboard each. By 26 January, her powder and shot were exhausted. Nevertheless, although unarmed she made a night raid up the Firth of Clyde in Scotland. Her landing party captured a whiskey distillery and transferred 40,000 gallons of single malt Scotch board by dawn. Then she headed home. The U. S. S. Constitution arrived in Boston on 20 February 1799, with no cannon shot, no food, no powder, no rum, no wine, no whiskey, and 38,600 gallons of water.

Do you walk in Light?
Theological Crisis
Sad and exciting times we live in. Last years survey released in Feb 2009 at Pew Forum of Religious and Public Life states 65% of America now believes Heaven is not exclusively for those who accept Christ as Savior. 52% said Jesus is not the only way to get to Heaven. Matthew 15:14 "Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch." Blind leading Blind? OK, if you never go to church = your Blind. If you take heed to a man in the pulpit who never testifies of a place God has called him to preach = your as blind as he is; If you never turn on your flashlight in the dark (open your Bible to read it)you are in the dark = blind. Today people are so blind they call evil good and good evil. A blind man says Abortion = good, and giving birth to a precious child = evil. I was sitting in an Appalachian class of Seniors about 5 years ago and we all had presentations to give on our area of occupation, I did salvation. Not one person in the classroom of counseling could tell me how to get to heaven when I asked. All were shocked I would pick such a subject in a class that is designed to help counsel others (I was shocked they were shocked). If you don't tell people about the Prince of Peace how will they ever find any peace? If we don't tell others about the True God of heaven how can they expect to go to Heaven? Here is something to chew on John 14:6 (Jesus Speaking) "...no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 3:36 " He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." and I John 5:12 "He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." Being good, being baptised, living clean, will never get anyone into heaven, only those who pray and believe, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."Romans 10:9-10. I am thankful to be one of the children of light. Are you blind?

Is Love Dead?
True love never asks "If you love me you will do this for me -= never, never , never!True loves is what can I do for you, and doing it. Real love is enduring. How do you know, one might ask! Because I have talked to the author of Love, Jesus Himself. God is love. He loved the world and gave. Our culture defines love as "getting", God said to it's very core it is "giving". Today we have to many on the marriage scene who only have a romantic obsession, which to no surprises lasts only two years. Love grows, so to fall in love is to say it takes no work, makes no sacrifices, and needs no effort put forth. If you have ever planted a flower you know it must be cultivated (worked on). True love begins with a commitment (I'll go die for their sin Father), and then gives and invest in that other person (Jesus walked on earth for 33 1/2 years.)True love is known and concluded in sacrifice (Someone did die on a old rugged cross for you - have you experienced that kind of love?) May the Holy Ghost shoot an arrow of conviction through your heart!
